Fruity Fun Hamburger

Cheese? Bacon? Fruit? Let’s face it, there isn’t anything in the world quit so delightful as your fist bite into a delicious hamburger.

500 g ground beef

2 tablespoons chopped walnuts

¼ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon pepper

1 granny smith apple (cored, cut into 8 rounds)

4 slices of Brie cheese

4 teaspoons of blackberry/cherry jam

4 whole-grain rolls

4 slices of bacon (optional)

Rocket and/or  mint leaves

  • Combine ground beef, walnuts, salt, pepper in a medium bowl, mixing thoroughly
  • Lightly shape into four patties
  • Place patties on baking tray under a medium grill
  • Grill covered for 10 minutes
  • Take the cover off and grill for another 5 to 7 minutes (until the patties are charred on the outside and juice inside) here you can add the bacon on top of the patties to cook crispy
  • Place two apple rounds on bottom of each roll, top with burger patty, place cheese on top of the patty, place rocket (and mint) leaves and spread jam on the other half of top roll. Close like a sandwich

Serve with your favourite hand-cut fries

Note: You can grill the apples for 3 to 4 minutes to sweeten them up a bit.
